The Norrlandsoperan Symphony Orchestra kicks off the new year with its traditional Twelfth Night concert. Conducted by Per-Otto Johansson, the program features music by Wagner, Strauss, Lehár, Dvořák, Lumbye, and others. The soloists are soprano Åsa Jäger and trumpeter Ellinor Bengtsson.

Pomp, splendor, and New Year’s glamour. Step into 2027 in style! The concert opens with the overture to Wagner’s The Flying Dutchman, followed by Senta’s ballad from the same opera, featuring soprano Åsa Jäger.

After the intermission, the program includes, among other pieces, the tranquil second movement from Dvořák’s “From the New World” Symphony and Wagner’s “Liebestod” from Tristan und Isolde. The concert concludes with Lumbye’s Kopenhagener Eisenbahn Dampf Galopp.
