Fagerborgfestspillene - Brytningstid [Digital festival]
23. apr. - 25. apr.
Oslo
Fagerborgfestspillene is a chamber music festival organised annually by the final-year students on the bachelor programme at Barratt Due Musikkinstitutt. Since its start in 2012 the festival has become an established arena for classical music in Oslo. It is a meeting point between professional performers and young musicians, who deliver music of high artistic quality to a wide audience. It is a learning platform and a communication platform for young musicians with a lot to say.
In 2021 the festival has been given the title Brytningstid (Time of Upheaval).
Upheaval is change, a more abrupt change, which stands as a counterpart to what has gone before. It can concern a single person, a whole nation or perhaps all of humanity. Upheaval can be portrayed through music, or it can occur within the music. Perhaps the upheaval is something taking place outside our control, perhaps we have caused it ourselves. In a time of upheaval, music is changing, values are changing and the world is changing.
