The early music festival Barokkfest has been held annually since 2013 and has quickly developed into one of Scandinavia's major gatherings for early music. The festival wants to offer first-class musical experiences in exceptional, historic surroundings. Nidarosdomen, the world's northernmost medieval cathedral, together with the adjoining Erkebispegården, are among the atmospheric venues that form the setting for Barokkfest. The festival programme offers world-leading artists, together with some of Scandinavia's most accomplished early music performers, and focuses on our rich opera and church music repertoire. The festival takes place in Trondheim.
We are proud to be able to finally invite you to this year's edition of Barokkfest! The programme really has something for every taste. Nordic Voices sing in Nidarosdomen, Vigleik Storaas improvises on the basis of Bach's Goldberg Variations, there will be a wine tasting with Ulf Dalheim and music from Louis XIV's orchestra that takes us straight back to Versailles in the 1700s.
