Engegård Quartet with friends presents Schubert på 123!
Since 2016 Engegårdkvartetten has organised the mini-festival " - på 123" where fantastic musicians explore one chosen composer - in a full 3-day programme.
The mini-festival På 123 has its home in Nynorskens hus - one of Oslo's very best rooms for chamber music. Here the sound is big and the audience close. The festival benefits from the multicultural environment that the house embraces. Welcome!
Welcome to as many as 9 events at this year's festival, which is a record. With Schubert's great treasury of music, and with the brilliant guest artists at this year's festival, it was difficult to hold back. We offer two Schubertiads in the programme, and both end with one of Schubert's wonderful song cycles: On Saturday Die Winterreise, and on Sunday Die schöne Müllerin.
Engegård Quartet performs Schubert's last two quartets: No. 14 in D minor, nicknamed "Death and the Maiden" and number 15, the very last, epic one in G major. With Louisa Tuck, cello, Engegård Quartet will (almost) end the whole festival with the legendary string quintet in C major. Come to our children's concert, and suddenly you are dancing both the ländler and the waltz. Last, but not least, you must not miss our star pianist from Hungary. Dénes Varjon can be heard in both solo and four-hand works.
