Borealis is a festival for genre-crossing music and art that runs over five days and takes place in March every year. Borealis is a place for adventurous listeners, celebrating music that does not fit into a box. Here, new projects from Norway and all over the world are presented that push the boundaries of what music is and how we listen. In 2023 it is 20 festivals since Borealis was born, and the anniversary festival celebrates and highlights the music makers, artists and musicians who have been essential in building the festival and the experimental music field, as well as presenting those who are taking experimental music into the future, both locally and internationally. On 15–19 March 2023 we celebrate everything that music and listening is, and can be!
