Borealis 2024 celebrates innovative experimental sound and music from all over Norway and Sápmi. Over 5 days, Borealis gathers adventurous listeners in concert halls, on mountaintops and in swimming pools to listen together. In collaboration with partners all over the city, from Festplassen to Åsane, Borealis will take over a variety of venues and present brand-new commissioned works to audiences in Bergen. With exhibitions, family events, talks and immersive sound experiences, Borealis opens up encounters with art and music that can help us explore the world around us. This year's festival is, for the first time, programmed in collaboration with an artist - the Sámi artist Elina Waage Mikalsen. Together with her, Borealis presents a whole programme of experimental Sámi artists in a way that has never been done in Bergen before.
