Fjord Classics
2. jul. - 6. jul.
Sandefjord
The aim of Fjord Classics is to present the most beautiful and exciting music from the classical repertoire, performed by world-class musicians. We want to enrich our audience and give them something deep and meaningful. We do not want the "popularisation" of classical music, and we will not bow to the most widespread musical tastes. The festival is for those who also wish to satisfy an emotional and intellectual curiosity.
An important driving force behind Fjord Classics is the organiser's passionate belief that classical music is something everyone needs. We also want to reach people who may not yet be aware of this need. We present the concerts in an accessible and relevant way. Our main message to new audiences is that you do not need to understand classical music (as many perhaps believe). All you need is a pair of ears and a little curiosity! Like all other art, it is to be experienced, not understood!
