Barokkfest
27. jan. - 1. feb.
Trondheim
Barokkfest is a classical music festival held in Trondheim every year at the turn of January-February. The festival has been held annually since 2013 and has quickly developed into one of Scandinavia's major festivals in its field. The festival wants to offer first-class musical experiences in exceptional, historic surroundings. Nidarosdomen, the world's northernmost medieval cathedral, together with the adjoining Erkebispegården, are among the atmospheric venues that frame Barokkfest. The festival programme features world-leading artists and focuses on opera and church music repertoire.
In parallel with Barokkfest, a separate literature festival is held, Barokkfest's sister festival, “SPOR Festival for idéhistorie og oversatt litteratur”. SPOR focuses mainly on the literary heritage of antiquity and topical social questions, often seen from captivating and new angles.
