Podium - Fartein Valen Internasjonale Musikkfest
13. jun. - 22. jun.
Haugesund
PODIUM - Fartein Valen internasjonale musikkfest is an international chamber music festival that takes place in Sveio and Haugesund every summer.
The festival is held 13 to 22 June 2025. In 2025 more than 20 large and small concerts are held over 10 days, with a large number of both local and international musicians.
The festival's programme as a whole presents both new and old music by known and unknown composers, but has a focus on Fartein Valen and other composers who resist conformity.
In addition to projects with local players and various innovative concert formats, PODIUM continues and develops Transfigurator 3000; a project focused on composition and improvisation for children and young people. We are also expanding our focus on play in communication, concert form and contact with audiences and volunteers.
Artistic directors are Mathias Halvorsen and Nikolai Matthews.
