Glogerfestspillene in Kongsberg is a classical music festival held every year at the end of January. The festival takes its name from the organ builder Gottfried Heinrich Gloger and his instrument from 1765. In historic surroundings, with Kongsberg kirke as the main venue, chamber music, orchestral works and church music are presented. The festival also shows staged performances and invites people to lectures linked to an annual festival theme. Glogerfestspillene wants to make classical music as accessible as possible to as many people as possible, which is why various venues all over the town are used. Quality, special atmosphere, friendship, history and contrasts are the festival's keywords. Glogerfestspillene offers contrasting experiences in the winter darkness through familiar - and lesser-known - classical music.
