Norsjø kammermusikkfest is a classical music festival based in Midt-Telemark, held annually at the end of April, just as the area's many apple trees begin to blossom. Through an intensive week of concerts, the audience gets to experience classical music with young performers at the very highest level. In addition, some of Norway's foremost established musicians guest at the festival. A young arena Through good cooperation with both Midgardkonkurransen and the local culture schools in the region, Norsjø kammermusikkfest wishes to bring young performers to the fore. They take part in the festival and stand on the stage together with the more experienced musicians. Communication Norsjø kammermusikkfest puts fresh thinking about the communication of classical music at the centre. New music has a natural place alongside the classical repertoire, and the festival has a tradition of inviting established composers to write for the festival's musicians. The festival wishes to promote classical music to a broad audience in the region. An important arena for this is the schools, which the festival's musicians visit and give concerts for, as well as concerts at institutions and "at-home concerts", where a few lucky people can invite a mini-concert with the festival artists into their own living room. All the concert venues have in common that they are located around Norsjø, and regardless of the format in which the festival holds its concerts, the aim is to create great musical experiences.
