For more than 70 years Festspillene i Bergen has been an international meeting place for creative forces and people of all kinds.
The programme is built around classical music and the performing arts, with branches in many directions. The festival embraces world stars and debutants, large halls and intimate concerts, the old, the new, and everything that happens where they meet.
The UNESCO city of Bergen and venues such as the composer Edvard Grieg's own home and the 750-year-old royal seat Håkonshallen are the historic backdrops for a festival that creates hundreds of live artistic experiences and memories for life over 15 spring days every year.
Festspillene i Bergen comes into being in the meeting between art forms, tradition and renewal, reflection and jubilation, auditorium and stage.
