Oslo Kammerakademi plays chamber music for wind instruments, with the historical Harmonie ensemble as its starting point, and it is the principal oboist of Oslo-Filharmonien David Friedemann Strunck who is the initiator and artistic director of the ensemble. The ensemble has established itself as a leader in Europe with critically acclaimed CD recordings and invitations and repeat invitations to prestigious festivals such as Rheingau Musik Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, «Summerwinds» Holzbläserfestival Münsterland, Glogerfestspillene, Fartein Valen-festivalen, Trondheim kammermusikkfestival, Stavanger Kammermusikfestival, Valdres Sommersymfoni and others.
Oslo Kammerakademi uses historical brass instruments in music from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods. This contributes to the ensemble's authentic sound and historically informed performance practice.
Oslo Kammerakademi also performs newly written music for Harmonie ensemble.
