Gloppen musikkfest
1. sep. - 5. sep.
Sandane
Gloppen Musikkfest started in 2003 as an association and a gathering of good music friends. In 2008 the foundation Stiftinga Gloppen Musikkfest was established. In 2013 - at the eleventh festival - we celebrated a ten-year anniversary. With the 2022 festival and other activity throughout the year we are building up to the 20th anniversary next year.
Over the years GMF as an organisation has changed a great deal – but the core is the same: The aim of Musikkfesten is to create an active art and cultural community at a high artistic level - not only in Gloppen, but in the whole county. The artistic vision has been laid down in our statutes since the start in 2003. From 2013 GMF has made moves and received important support from, among others, the county council, Kulturrådet and Gloppen municipality in the work of becoming a classical music festival for the whole county.
In recent years we have also put emphasis on organising concerts and other events throughout the year, including the focus on young classical performers from the county - in the last two years with STARTGROPA.
