The early music festival Barokkfest has been held annually since 2013 and has quickly developed into one of Scandinavia's major early music gatherings. The festival wishes to offer first-class musical experiences in exceptional, historic surroundings. Nidarosdomen, the world's northernmost medieval cathedral, together with the adjoining Erkebispegården, are among the atmospheric venues that form the setting for Barokkfest. The festival programme offers world-leading artists, together with some of Scandinavia's most skilled early musicians, and focuses on our rich opera and church music repertoire. The festival takes place in Trondheim.
SPOR Festival for idéhistorie og oversatt litteratur is held in parallel with Barokkfest.
Barokkfest is organised by Senter for tidligmusikk.
