With excellent acoustics and a central location at Akershus festning, Ridehuset Scene is one of Oslo's most sought-after concert venues
Since 2007 Ridehuset has been the permanent concert stage of Stabsmusikken, located at Akershus festning, in the middle of central Oslo. As the name suggests, the building was originally used for horse riding at the fortress, but is today one of the capital's most sought-after intimate stages. The exterior of the building is preserved as it was built, while the interior has been upgraded to a modern stage. The hall seats 200 audience members in an amphitheatre, and the stage itself is very flexible and is used for concerts, theatre, dance and other cultural purposes.
In recent years, besides our own concerts, we have also hosted players such as Oslo-filharmonien, Oslo Operafestival, Ultimafestivalen, The European Conductor's Competition, Army Summit and many more.
