Description
In this light-hearted comic opera we are thrown straight into a web of intrigue, cheating and foul play as Serpina tries to seduce her boss. In a playful story about relationships and work, then and now, the audience is treated to beautiful music, humour and love. Cunning & Desire consists of two short comic operas that are 300 years old: La serva padrona by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi and Pimpinone by Georg Philipp Telemann. The common theme is maidservants who scheme to get together with their master and thereby rise in social rank. We really let loose in this modernised production adapted for touring. It will be fun and lively, with musical humour where the baroque music is joined by more modern elements. Opera in two acts, approx. 1 hr 45 min incl. interval. Director: Helena Röhr.
