Description
Join us for play and mischief! Clarinettist Martin Fröst and the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra visit Vara Konserthus to play Mozart's Clarinet Concerto, a work that is constantly in motion. This evening promises both a sugar rush and pounding hearts. Before Martin Fröst takes the stage, the concert makes a flying start with a sugar rush. The Swedish composer Tebogo Monnakgotla has written the humorous piece Sugar High, inspired by the rush of a children's party. Leading the orchestra is the German conductor Cornelius Meister, who is making a long-awaited return with his charisma and energy. The Swedish star clarinettist Martin Fröst continues to captivate audiences, both as soloist and as conductor. Now he is the soloist in the beloved clarinet concerto that became one of Mozart's most beautiful works and that has made Fröst world-famous. The fragile Adagio leaves not a dry eye in the house. Fröst has recorded the work no fewer than three times, and believes there is no definitive version. To finish, we land in heartfelt love and longing in Brahms's Second Symphony. A work marked by warmth, lyricism and heartfelt melancholy! Programme: Monnakgotla: Sugar High Mozart: Clarinet Concerto Brahms: Symphony No. 2
Programme:Tebogo Monnakgotla · Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart · Johannes Brahms
