Description

World-class artistic duo – Miyu Manabe & Villads Littauer Bendixen interpret the magic of the violin sonata Join us on a musical journey where two exceptional young musicians meet in an artistic dialogue between violin and piano. The Japanese pianist Miyu Manabe and the Danish violinist Villads Littauer Bendixen present a programme that celebrates the rich tradition of the violin sonata – from Beethoven's elegance and Ravel's jazz-influenced landscapes to Dalberg's Nordic modernism and Franck's lyrical warmth. Miyu Manabe – poetic precision and international elegance at the piano Miyu Manabe is a Japanese pianist whose musical journey began at the age of four at the Yamaha Music School in Osaka. She has studied at some of the most prestigious institutions in Japan and Europe – from Kyoto City University of Arts to the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Paris – where she immersed herself in both solo repertoire and chamber music under the guidance of distinguished teachers such as Billy Eidi and Pascal Le Corre. Miyu has won prizes in several international competitions and is a sought-after pianist and accompanist in the Kansai region. Since 2023 she has been based in Sweden, and in autumn 2025 she began her studies with Francisca Skoogh on the diploma programme at the Malmö Academy of Music . Villads Littauer Bendixen – virtuosity with a Nordic soul and global reach Villads Littauer Bendixen began playing the violin at the age of five in Sweden and moved to Berlin as early as the age of seven to study at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler. There he developed his technique and musicality under the guidance of Michael Erxleben and Zoya Nevgodovska. His further studies have taken him to Oslo, Copenhagen and now Malmö, where he is immersed in the diploma programme at the Academy of Music. Villads has an impressive record as a soloist and chamber musician, with appearances in more than ten countries and prizes from competitions such as “Jugend Musiziert”, “Vidunderbørn” and “Hungarian Games”. He has been a guest at several of the Nordic region's leading festivals and plays two historic instruments – a Testore from 1735 and a François-Louis Pique from 1796 – which give a rich and nuanced palette of sound. The Art of the Violin Sonata A tribute to the violin sonata as one of chamber music's most expressive forms – where two voices meet in an equal conversation. Each work in the programme sheds light on a new aspect of the art of writing for violin and piano, and together Miyu and Villads create a concert experience that is both technically brilliant and emotionally moving. Don't miss the chance to experience this dynamic duo live – a meeting of two cultures, two instruments and two artistic visions that together create pure musical magic.
