Description
The violent, the fragile, the high-tech and the existential. STHLM Blue Tide welcomes things that defy ready-made templates – music and musicians that cannot easily be categorised. The Gothenburg-based contemporary music ensemble Gageego! has been such an experimental force in Sweden since 1995. Esaias Järnegard's music swings between the extremely fragile and the very tangible. In tunnlar. diken. gravar the title suggests an underground geography and music that digs its way forward. The Italian Clara Iannotta likes to let instruments transform. In Eclipse Plumage, for example, an “anti-machine” stands at the centre – created to generate magnetic fields around the strings of the piano so that invisible forces arise. Jesper Nordin combines traditional craftsmanship with groundbreaking technology. Surfaces scintillantes explores the relationship between surface and depth. Everything is based on improvisations on a digital instrument, which was then “polished” to create the glittering and delicate surfaces alluded to in the title. Rebecca Saunders, for her part, works more with an extreme, physical intensity: Fury II is a concerto for solo double bass and ensemble that depicts a state of rage. A climax is reached in the first performance of a new work by Djuro Zivkovic – the Concert Hall's Composer of the Season, whose music often moves between the virtuosic and the deeply spiritual. Come a little early, stay on – the bar with drinks and snacks is open both before and after the concert. Organiser Venue Google Calendar iCalendar Outlook 365 Outlook Live
