In the summer of 2027, Läcköoperan celebrates 30 years with a real Baroque feast! We open the treasure chest of female composers, and over three years Läcköoperan will perform operas by female composers from different periods of history. First up is Les Génies ou les Caractères de l'Amour by Mademoiselle Duval, a co-production with Den Andra Operan, which specialises in researching and staging works from the operatic repertoire composed by women. Mademoiselle Duval's Les Génies is a French opera-ballet that had its world premiere at the Paris Opéra in 1736. In four tableaux, infatuation, seduction, betrayal and passion run riot to a libretto by Fleury de Lyon. Les Génies was rediscovered only a few years ago and received a modern edition by Benoît Dratwicki, artistic director of the Centre de musique baroque de Versailles. Läckö's premiere will be the first time the work meets an audience on stage in 290 years! Director Johanne Holten and dramaturg Sophie Helsing have together adapted the material for a full evening at Läckö, in which characters have been merged to give them a journey through the whole performance.
