FRSO & Nicholas Collon & Senja Rummukainen

Kuvaus

The dying Mahler put the rhythm of his failing heart into music, and launched his Ninth Symphony with a sigh of "farewell". But that's the beginning, not the end, as Mahler wrings every last drop of sweetness and sorrow from a life of total emotional commitment. Nicholas Collon and the FRSO take an unforgettable journey today, but there's no shadow without light. Cue cellist Senja Rummukainen, and the sunshine and ceremony of Haydn's joyous concerto. Program: Joseph Haydn: Cello Concerto No. 1 in C Major Gustav Mahler: Symphony No. 9
