Requiem for future generations

Kuvaus

From the restraint of Arvo Pärt to the microtonal complexity of Sampo Haapamäki, the Helsinki Chamber Choir and Jan Lehtola explore the newest musical currents for the age-old combination of choir and organ, while contemplating humanity's relationship with its own future. Manannán - a world premiere by the doyenne of Irish composers, Rhona Clarke - focuses on the beauty and threatening power of the ocean in an age of rising sea levels. The supremely inventive Jukka Tiensuu has written his first choral work for thirty years. Program: Sampo Haapamäki: Requiem for future generations (premiere) Arvo Pärt: Für Jan van Eyck Jukka Tiensuu: new work (premiere) Rhona Clarke: Manannán (premiere)
