Beskrivelse

We warmly invite you to a second concert in the series “Musical Dialogues: Ukraine–Denmark”, presented by Ukraine House in Denmark in collaboration with Nielsen Saloner. This cultural initiative uses music as a universal language to foster understanding and connection between Ukraine and Denmark — a dialogue across borders, through sound. This concert welcomes to Copenhagen an internationally acclaimed Kyiv Piano Duo — Oleksandra Zaytseva and Dmytro Tavanets — who perform repertoire for two pianos. They will perform a compelling program that weaves together the musical voices of Ukraine and Denmark. With deep ties to the Danish music scene, including appearances at the Copenhagen Summer Festival, Schubertiade Roskilde, and collaborations with Danish artists like Henrik Svitzer, the Duo are true cultural ambassadors. They are laureates of top international piano duo competitions — including the Grieg, Valberg, Kaunas, Ischia, and Schubert competitions — the Duo is known for their expressive power and artistic excellence. Kyiv Piano Duo will perform a programme for 2 pianos and piano 4 hands by Ukrainian and Danish contemporary composers: W.A.Mozart-E.Grieg Sonate C-dur for two pianos Ivan Taranenko “Freckle on Easter 2022” for two pianos Bohdana Frolyak Nocturne for two pianos Gunnar Berg “Cosmogonie I” for two pianos Lesya Dychko “Kyiv Sketches” for two pianos Kostiantyn Vilenskyi “Devil’s Dance” for two pianos John Frandsen “Dance of Fire” for piano four hands Rued Langgaard “Fanfare-Polonaise” for piano four & six hands Johan Svendsen “Fest-Polonaise” for piano six hands
