Musikkens venner Kristiansand
Kristiansand
Musikkens Venner Kristiansand is one of the few concert organisers in Kristiansand that arranges chamber concerts at a professional level, and it therefore plays an important part in Kristiansand's musical life.
The association has organised or co-organised about 700 concerts during its existence. Each year, six to eight concerts or lecture concerts are now arranged. The association has around 90 active members. MV Kristiansand regularly receives enquiries from artists in Norway and abroad about arranging concerts.
The association was founded in 1946, and could therefore celebrate its 75th anniversary in autumn 2021!
MV Kristiansand is run by volunteers. Locally, the association works closely with several cultural institutions such as Operaens venner, Kristiansand Domkirke and Kilden Teater- og Konserthus for Sørlandet.
Our concerts take place at Klubben, Gimle Gård, Myren Gård, Arkivet, and other suitable concert venues adapted to the individual concert. Musicians from Kristiansand Symfoniorkester are also among our artists.
The association is affiliated with :klassisk.
