Christiania Klangkollektiv

Christiania Klangkollektiv is a new Norwegian early music ensemble that immerses itself in the classical repertoire and makes it living and relevant, with the communicative qualities of the music at the centre. The ensemble was established by the flautist Torun Torbo and the violist Mari Giske, who invite a number of Norwegian and international musicians to join them in various constellations – such as piano quartets with Emil Duncumb on fortepiano and quintets for flute, oboe and string trio with the British star violinist Huw Daniel. As experienced radio journalists, Torun and Mari are passionate about placing music in a textual context to give the music a relevant and interesting framing and give audiences richer listening experiences – as in the concert performance «Dialog med en dikterdronning» about the German poet Anna Louisa Karsch, who wrote her way out of deep poverty, built herself up as a kind of brand and became known as «the goddess-mother of poetry».
