Music for a while with Ola Kvernberg

Description

Come to Music for a while's traditional Christmas concert at Parkteatret! This year they have none other than Ola Kvernberg along as guest artist! Shorten the wait with winter songs and a sprinkling of Christmas from Music for a while, who have been a band for more than 20 years! We can promise a beautiful and entertaining concert, with classical highlights, singalongs, laughter, a few Christmas ditties and baroque music as you have never heard it before! In Music for a while, Tora Augestad fronts a star line-up of Norwegian musicians. What characterises the group is their personal, organic and creative treatment of different song material. Their critically acclaimed debut album was called «Weill Variations», a collection of original and fresh versions of Kurt Weill's immortal music. The acclaimed second album, «Graces that refrain», contained fearless cover versions of compositions from classical music, from John Dowland to Francis Poulenc. In 2014 the band celebrated its 10th anniversary, and on that occasion came the third album, «Canticles of Winter», which received fantastic reviews from a unanimous body of critics. In autumn 2021 came the album «Essays», which was also received with acclaim. «Music without borders – an experience of the rare kind.» – Tor Hammerø, Nettavisen
