Live Klassisk was initiated by young, committed classical musicians in Norway and Denmark.
- Our vision is to make classical music more accessible. We want to make the concerts, festivals, musicians and ensembles more visible – and audible – to everyone.
In collaboration with various industry players, musicians, audience members and organisers, we have created what we ourselves think is a simple and good overview of what is happening in the classical field.
About the founders of Live Klassisk
Erik Danciu (DK) – violinist and founder of Live Klassisk
Erik first had the idea for Live Klassisk back in 2014, when he was studying violin at the Cleveland Institute of Music in the USA. When he continued his studies in Vienna in 2017, he spent hours trying to find his bearings among the thousands of classical concerts taking place in the city. This really highlighted the need for a unifying and easily accessible platform for classical music. “If it is so difficult for a classically trained musician to navigate the jungle of classical concerts, how on earth is someone with no experience of classical music supposed to manage?”
Besides running Live Klassisk, Erik works regularly as a violinist in Danmarks Radios Symfoniorkester, and plays classical as well as gypsy jazz and electronic music.
Daniel Lyngstad (NO) – violinist and founder of Live Klassisk
In 2019 Daniel became involved in Live Klassisk, drawing on his broad experience from the cultural sector to make the project a reality. An important motivation in Daniel's musical work has been to make classical music accessible to a wider part of the population. Helping to develop Live Klassisk was therefore a natural step.
As managing director of the festival Interpuls, with production experience from a number of festivals and cultural events, and as a performing violinist, he has broad knowledge of classical musical life.
Alongside running Live Klassisk, Daniel is employed as 1st violinist in the Opera Orchestra at Den Norske Opera & Ballett.
