Description

Modern music can feel difficult to approach, but this unusual duo wants to change that. Mika Takehara explains: ”It's about how you present the music, because every piece has a story.” This concert is dominated by warm, beautiful colours, where the violin and marimba together create a sound world all their own. Added to this are pre-recorded sounds that are both like extra fellow musicians and seasoning for the music. And the performance's films, which accompany the pieces, create further impressions. Mika Takehara has given concerts together with, among others, Berliner Philharmoniker and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. Mika's musical breadth has led to collaborations in traditional classical music, contemporary music and jazz. Klara Hellgren has been leader of Uppsala Kammarorkester and a member of Uppsala Kammarsolister. She now freelances full time as a soloist, chamber musician and guest leader and has performed music from the baroque to newly written works.
