Gotlandsmusiken
We are GotlandsMusiken and it is our joy to put music to the whole of Gotland, from Fårö in the north to Hoburgen in the south, almost 365 days a year. We produce and organise concerts, we support and cooperate with the island's music life and its inhabitants – with a particular emphasis on children and young people.
Gotland is not only rauks and ruins: even though Gotland is Sweden's smallest region and has few year-round residents, we have a fantastically rich, varied and high-quality music offering – all year round!
Gotland is the leader in Sweden when it comes to cultural consumption in the areas of music, dance and theatre, which is surely because the performing arts concern many people. We at GotlandsMusiken are proud to be the island's professional musical base resource that makes things accessible, creates conditions and complements local music life, and thus an integrated part of Gotland's rich contemporary culture.
GotlandsMusiken/Gotlands Musikstiftelse was founded in 1988 and is one of Sweden's 22 regional music institutions. GotlandsMusiken is Gotland's professional music resource with 14 permanently employed musicians.
