Wermland Operas Orkester
Wermland Opera provides people in Värmland and visitors with a wide selection of opera, musical and orchestral productions of high artistic quality.
With a handful of permanently employed singers and the orchestra, Wermland Operas orkester, made up of 35 full-time musicians, Wermland Opera presents productions for the people of Karlstad, Värmland and visitors.
Wermland Opera has a reputation for being innovative and bold, both in choice of works and in execution. In both opera and musical theatre Wermland Opera often presents Swedish and Nordic premieres, but also often performs classical pieces in a somewhat newer guise.
Wermland Opera's productions are seen mainly on Stora scenen at Wermland Opera, which is located in the middle of Karlstad, in the Klara block, and on Lilla scenen, which is located in Spinneriet at Älvgatan 49. The orchestra plays concert series at Karlstad CCC and on Wermland Opera's Stora scen.
In addition to the productions given on the stages in Karlstad, Wermland Opera also runs touring activities. The tours are primarily intended for the municipalities in Värmland County, but every now and then the tours extend beyond both the county's and the country's borders.
