PixiOpera - Papageno and Papagena

Description

ONLY FOR SCHOOLS & DAY-CARE INSTITUTIONS Bring your pupils and experience Mozart's classic opera The Magic Flute in a playful performance for children. Papageno and Papagena is about Frederik, a very skilled opera singer who would like to sing lots of lovely concerts for children. But it does not always go so well, and he scolds his friend, the stage manager, who is only trying to help him become even better – perhaps he should try to relax a little and learn to use his imagination? PixiOpera is inspired by two characters from Mozart's The Magic Flute and is about being friends, enemies and sweethearts. As in a real fairy tale, a colourful and playful universe arises, full of love, magic, frogs that turn into princes – and a pet with a tummy ache. In the Royal Danish Theatre's PixiPerformances, children and their grown-ups get a fun and informal introduction to the theatre's classical art forms: opera, drama, ballet and concert. PixiOpera is an opera in miniature, made and told for children, with songs and musical excerpts from well-known operas, but with new words. In Papageno and Papagena the musical excerpts are taken from Mozart's The Magic Flute. Give your pupils their perhaps first encounter with the genre of opera in this delightful performance.
