Concert - Hildegardensemble Symphonia

Description

The music for this concert will probably strike most people as distinctive. We will hear music by Hildegard of Bingen and her contemporaries. Hildegard (1098-1179) was, as an abbess, head of a convent on the Rhine in Germany, and also wrote books and composed music. Hildegardensemble Symphonia, led by soprano Marianne G. Nielsen, is dedicated to the interpretation of Hildegard von Bingen's music. The ensemble combines many years of expertise in early music with a deep understanding of Hildegard's unique works. The ensemble was founded in 1998, when Hildegard of Bingen's 900th birthday was celebrated, and consists of soprano Marianne G. Nielsen, Mie Korp Sloth, organetto, and recorder player Karina Agerbo. Ensemble Symphonia performs Hildegard's works with an intensity and authenticity that capture the spiritual and historical depth of the music. The ensemble's musical vision also includes instrumental music from Hildegard's contemporaries, creating a rich and authentic concert experience. The concert is free. Everyone is welcome.
