Description
The Church's Larks
The vaults of Nyborg Vor Frue Kirke will resound with choral singing from the church's High Mass Choir, Lise and Torben and the 2 organists at this in-house concert.
Torben Juelsgaard Christensen and Lise Bech Bendix make up the weekday choir that sings at various services in the church, the chapel and other places locally. Both are trained singers, one also employed at Odense Domkirke, the other with a solo career behind her.
The High Mass Choir is a mixed ensemble choir of 9 members who take part in the church's high masses on Sundays - hence the name High Mass Choir. The young choir members have on several occasions, besides Sundays and public holidays, shown their special abilities as a solo choir.
For the concert the two organists, Gitte Berggreen and Claus Tolstrup, will bind the church's larks together in English, Scottish and Danish music. Both organs as well as the grand piano will be used at this concert. The organs with Edward Elgar and Herbert Howells and the choir with John Rutter and Thomas Tallis. Scottish and Danish songs in arrangements by Bo Holten and Michael Bojesen.
Price: Free admission.
