Concert Women of Brass and Fredens Pigekor

Description

Women of Brass was created with the wish to put the focus on professional female brass players in Scandinavia. In a world that has historically been dominated by men, there have not been many female role models for young women who wanted to make something of themselves in music. The ensemble consists of ten musicians on trumpet, horn, tuba, euphonium and trombone. At its head is the internationally acclaimed conductor Michelle Rakers, who was previously a conductor in "The President's Own" United States Marine Band, and is now based in Aarhus. At the concert part of the programme will consist of songs written by female composers and songwriters.
