After-work concert
Henrik Goldschmidt, obo, klarinet, fløjte og chalumeau
Description
The series of after-work concerts in January, WHILE WE WAIT FOR THE LIGHT, begins this Friday afternoon as darkness falls. The after-work concerts take place at 16.00-16.30, and if you follow all 4 concerts in January you will be able to feel the light returning week by week. For the first concert we receive a visit from the oboist Henrik Goldschmidt, who will play not only the oboe but also clarinet, flute and chalumeau, which is a woodwind instrument related to the oboe. Goldschmidt has visited the cathedral before in other contexts and is well known to most. Besides being one of the world's best oboists and a former principal oboist of Det Kgl. Kapel, he is the founder of the Middle East Peace Ensemble and of Goldschmidts Musikakademi in Copenhagen, which is a music school for children who cannot afford to pay for the lessons themselves. It will be a very special afternoon in the cathedral. The concert will be meditative in character and lasts approx. 30 minutes. Admission is free. Price: Free admission
