The Devil and the Beauty
Trio Nastela
Description
With this breakneck programme we tie together music from different eras through two leitmotifs that link the works to one another. Besides the obvious title Devils Gate, teacher and pupil, Beethoven and Czerny, also appear as almost demonic figures in the history of the piano, with their music, études and lasting influence on classical musicians to this day. This music we set in contrast to Grandval's light, bright and beautiful trio and the bubbling joy of playing in David Saulesco's brand-new Rhapsody, written especially for Trio Nastela. With this programme we stretch the limits of what our instrumentation can embrace, and it is a great joy that we musicians gladly share with our audience.
