Beethoven 200 Years - Piano Concert

Christina Bjørkøe, klaver

Description

The pianist Christina Bjørkøe marks the 200th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's death in Værløse Kirke. She will perform Beethoven's last three piano sonatas: No. 30 in E major, Op. 109, No. 31 in A flat major, Op. 110 and No. 32 in C minor, Op. 111. These three sonatas are counted among the greatest masterpieces in the entire piano literature. They are the culmination of Beethoven's life's work and contain a unique artistic and spiritual depth. The music ranges from the deeply lyrical to the monumental and visionary, and has for generations been a guiding star for both pianists and music lovers. To experience all three sonatas together at a single concert is a rare event. The concert also takes on special relevance because 2027 marks the 200th anniversary of Beethoven's death. It is therefore an obvious occasion to honour one of the greatest composers in music history with precisely this programme. Christina Bjørkøe belongs to the absolute elite of Danish pianists. She has been awarded the Wilhelm Hansen Foundation's Honorary Award. She was a pupil of Therese Koppel, and at the age of 19 was admitted to the Juilliard School in New York. After her years in the USA she completed her studies at Det Kongelige Danske Musikkonservatorium and has since given numerous concerts as a soloist and chamber musician at home and abroad. Among other awards she has received the Victor Borge Music Prize and the P2 Prize. Price: free
