About the festival
Welcome to the festival 2022
With a series of concerts in Viborg Musiksal and churches around the Limfjord we present chamber music every summer with some of the country's best musicians in collaboration with international stars.
Kammermusik ved Fjorden is held this year from 4-7 August, and this year you can experience, among other things, masterpieces such as W.A. Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante, Little Suite for Strings by Carl Nielsen and W.A. Mozart's Exsultate Jubilate with the festival orchestra and the outstanding Ukrainian soprano Lilya Grevtsova. This year the festival will also be visited by a few of Sweden's most acclaimed young musicians, who play chamber music with their Danish colleagues.
In addition, we again receive a visit from one of Denmark's most acclaimed translators of German literature, Jørgen Herman Monrad, who will come and give a talk on 7 August as a concert introduction in Viborg Musiksal.
The festival, which takes place in some of Denmark's most beautiful nature, has in a few years gained great support and recognition. We are also proud to inspire a broad audience, who have not necessarily listened to classical music before, by maintaining a programme of the highest artistic level, while the audience can feel that the artists are passionate about what they do.
