Schackenborg Musikfest
11. aug. - 13. aug.
Møgeltønder
Schackenborg Musikfest is a world-class chamber music festival taking place in the borderland between Denmark and Germany, in the grounds of the beautiful Schackenborg Slot and in Møgeltønder.
It has been praised by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung for the high energy, artistic quality and willingness to take risks in its "Viking-inspired" artistic direction, and the festival's ambition is to gather the finest artists of Denmark, Germany and Europe.
The festival was launched in 2021 and has already been attended by thousands of audience members, who have experienced 20 distinguished guests including Christian Tetzlaff, Nicolas Altstaedt, Alexander Lonquich and Mojca Erdmann among others.
The 2023 edition will offer 5 concerts, 18 composers and 11 artists, including the harp star Anneleen Lenaerts (Wien Filharmonien), the Norwegian Vertavo Kvartet, flautist Irena Kavčič, soloist with Det Slovenske Radios Orkester, and members of Den Kgl.
The development of extraordinary young talents is a priority for Den Danske Klarinet Trio: The Musikfest promotes the most vibrant Danish/Nordic talents through its "Rising Stars" programme, which creates collaborations with established artists based in Germany.
The 2023 edition features the clarinettist Jonas Frølund, who is already loved by the Danish audience, and the extraordinary young violist Gordon Lau from Berlin.
Previous "Rising Stars" include Jonathan Swensen, Michael Germer, Gustav Piekut, Anna Agafia, NOVO Quartet
