Welcome to Hvide Sande Masterclass 2023. 16-23 September At Hvide Sande Masterclass 2023 there will be the chance to play and listen to fantastic classical music at 10 public concerts. The music is performed by the masterclass professors and this year's outstanding young musicians. The young musicians at Hvide Sande Masterclass will be selected through an application process by the masterclass professors from among the very greatest classical talents at home and abroad. The focus here is on chamber music ensemble playing but also on solo achievements. The masterclass professors teach solo lessons, take part in the chamber music ensembles alongside the young musicians and coach the established groups in the masterclass lessons, and also play in the concerts. In this way the young musicians are inspired to continued personal and musical development. It is a great joy for me to be allowed to welcome you all to Hvide Sande Masterclass 2023. You, the hopeful, young, hand-picked musician, who has struggled to learn all the many difficult works. You, dear professor, who bring your many years of experience from countless concerts and hours with your instrument. And of course you, who come and experience the music in full bloom in a completely different kind of concert hall. I hope you will have a life-affirming musical experience, which you can come back to (re)experience with anticipation and look back on with joy. Sigrid Kongshøj-Munch has been project manager of Hvide Sande Masterclass since 2020. She is trained as a violist and violinist, music communicator and music educator at Det Kongelige Danske Musikkonservatorium, where she completed her master's degree in 2015. She has played numerous solo, chamber music and orchestral concerts, premieres, and has made recordings, TV and theatre productions. Sigrid plays in Trio con Spirito. She has played in DR Symfoniorkester, Det Kongelige Kapel, Copenhagen Phil, Aalborg Symfoniorkester and has been employed as a violist in Ensemble Storstrøm on a six-month contract. Since August 2018 she has held a permanent position at Tårnby musikskole. Over 17 years Hvide Sande Masterclass has made its name as a powerhouse for communicating, and spreading knowledge of, classical music to a new audience in West Jutland. Here the experience of the beautiful, rugged nature is united in the best way with experiences of classical music at a high national and international level. Here young classical talents from the Danish music conservatoires, in meeting other young musicians from all over the world, have let themselves be inspired to further studies through personal friendships, chamber music ensemble playing and the many joint concerts, made possible by stays and studies with the outstanding professors at Hvide Sande Masterclass. Audiences from all over the country and tourists have flocked in year after year to attend the many concerts and the open teaching at Hvide Sande Masterclass. It is the intention to continue and strengthen this work by holding Hvide Sande Masterclass – also in 2023.
