Odsherreds Kammermusikfestival 28/7-2/8 2024
Welcome to Odsherreds Kammermusikfestival. For the 32nd time we are opening our doors to a wonderful summer week under the sign of music. A festival week with deep roots and high ambitions, where international stars meet in Odsherred to create unforgettable musical moments.
This year's theme is the kaleidoscope, and when you put the eyepiece to your eye, you encounter a magical musical universe of chamber music, winding in fairytale patterns and meeting jazz, tango, cabaret and folk music along the way.
Sharp fault lines and surprising concert journeys are therefore in focus at this year's festival. At the evening concerts you can hear classical masterpieces such as Schubert's Trout Quintet, Schumann's Piano Quintet and Brahms's Piano Trio No. 1 mirrored by rarely performed music such as Jessie Montgomery's ‘Strum’, Korngold's Suite for strings and 1-handed piano(!) and Erwin Schulhoff's Concertino for flute, viola and double bass.
The setting for the festival's five evening concerts and five afternoon concerts is the beautiful concert hall of Anneberg Kulturpark. As always, the afternoon concerts feature some of the country's greatest young talents, presented in collaboration with Jacob Gades Legat. In addition there is a walking concert in the historic surroundings of the cultural park, a meditation concert in Nykøbing Sjælland Kirke, a children's concert in collaboration with Odsherreds Teater, and talks by Jesper Christiansen, professor and visual artist, and by the author Pablo Llambias.
We close the festival with a bang of a concert on Friday 2 August at 17.00, where the festival's young string players and Michala Petri present a sparkling programme of Baroque music, new music and Edvard Grieg's ‘Holberg Suite’.
We are proud to present a star-studded programme with both Danish and international names from countries such as the USA, Austria, England, Norway, Sweden, France, Italy and Croatia.
Welcome to Odsherred Kammermusikfestival!
