In August, musicians from all over the world meet again for two weeks of musical joy here in Thy, Denmark.
The festival is a time to discover and rediscover great chamber music, new approaches to making our music even more alive, a remarkable natural environment, new people...
Summer light, exciting landscapes, the sea and the fjords, refreshing winds - these are as much a part of the unique experience of our festival as the music of Mozart, Schubert, Brahms, Dohnanyi, Janacek, Langgard, Norgaard, Mogens Christensen and Alban Berg, which our outstanding musicians will come here to perform. Some concerts will also include short excerpts of music composed spontaneously during the festival by participants who have chosen also to experiment with improvisation and group composition.
The special quality of musicianship that can be heard in our concerts is perhaps the most meaningful and vivid proof of what happens when so many wonderful elements of life and music come together. This rare artistic intensity - beautiful and balanced - is of course catalysed not least thanks to the generosity of so many dedicated helpers, whose selfless efforts make it possible for us to work under quite ideal conditions.
We look forward to having you join us in sharing the experience of outstanding chamber music, old and new, alive and present, at Thy Kammermusikfestival 2024.
