Bornholms Musikfestival
20. jul. - 21. aug.
Bornholms Musikfestival, the country's oldest festival of its kind, welcomes all guests to its 58th season, which takes place on Mondays and Thursdays between 20 July and 17 August as well as on Friday 21 August.
This season too, the board looks forward to offering concerts of high quality, with both well-established artists and ensembles and young prize-winning ensembles.
All concerts are played in Aa Kirke, except for the concerts on 23 July in Skt. Nicolai in Rønne and on 27 July in Domen in Allinge.
Two young ensembles play open rehearsals in Aa Kirke under the direction of Professor Tim Frederiksen on Saturday and Sunday 1 and 2 August and on Tuesday and Wednesday 4 and 5 August.
The composer of the year at Bornholms Musikfestival will be Matias Vestergård.
Without large and generous support, Bornholms Musikfestival could not offer these concerts, and the festival has so far gratefully received support from Carl Nielsen og Anne Marie Carl-Nielsens legat, Augustinus Fonden, Bornholms Brand Fond, Bornholms Musik- og Teaterråd, Knud Højgaards Fond, Aage og Johanne Louis-Hansens Fond, Solistforeningen, Sparekassen Bornholms Fond, Statens Kunstfond and Wilhelm Hansen Fonden.
A big thank-you also to the parish council of Aa Kirke, which makes Aa Kirke available for our concerts, and to Bornholms Musikfestivals Venner, whose board with great enthusiasm and readiness looks after the musicians' well-being and the running of the concerts.
