Late Summer Festival
14. aug. - 20. aug.
Hvide Sande
Through music, the festival reminds us how music can bring people together across borders and create connections. The Ukrainian composer Valentin Silvestrov and the Iranian musician Majeed Qadianie send a strong message of peace and reconciliation with their music. The festival also celebrates the unique tone and character of Nordic music.
With performances of works by Rued Langgaard, in the meantime a Danish classic, and the Faroese Kristian Blak and the Norwegian Lasse Thoresen from our own time, the festival shows how Scandinavian modernism is in touch with its roots and its folk music – at the same time great classics such as Beethoven, Brahms and Mozart can also be experienced, performed by outstanding ensembles and musicians from all over Europe.
In contrast to last year's festival, which was about the joy of being together again, the many tragic events of the past year have given extra ground for the hope of a life in freedom and peaceful coexistence.
