Hjerting Byvej 13, Esbjerg
Hjerting is a suburb of Esbjerg, located 7 kilometres north of Esbjerg Centrum. The suburb has approx. 8.200 inhabitants. The district was a fishing hamlet and a landing place for the market town of Varde before Esbjerg Harbour was built in 1868. Hjerting is now better known as a wealthy suburb where more and more country-style homes are springing up. The suburb is divided into Gammel (Old) and Nye (New) Hjerting, where Old Hjerting is the most sought-after and also the most expensive area to live in. Hjerting has had two schools, which have now been merged into one following the school mergers in 2012.
