Would you like to experience something extraordinary tomorrow in Bergen?

On this exceptional program, we have Opening Fanfares by Eino Tamberg, the grand Brahms’ First Symphony, and Philip Glass’ 1st Violin Concerto.
The Bergen Filharmoniske Ungdomsorkester, along with violinist Ragnhild Hemsing and conductor Risto Joost, will present this beautiful concert at Grieghallen.
Eino Tamberg was an Estonian composer known for his contributions to contemporary classical music. His Opening Fanfares (Avafanfaarid) are literally opening this marvelous concert.
Brahms took over two decades to finish his First Symphony, starting its sketches in 1854 but not completing it until 1876. This delay was partly due to his sense of duty towards Beethoven's symphonic legacy. Hence, the symphony is sometimes humorously dubbed "Beethoven's Tenth".
Philip Glass's First Violin Concerto is a captivating piece that showcases his distinctive minimalist style. In three movements it features repetitive rhythmic patterns, slowly evolving harmonies, and a focus on subtle shifts in texture and dynamics.
Will we see you at this special concert on the 25th of April in Bergen?
