Hello there everyone! My name is August Finkas and I’m the Principal Clarinet of the Copenhagen Philharmonic. I love playing in orchestra and I love clarinet. The orchestral playing gives me this team spirit/unity-feeling where we create something far bigger than what you can create on your own. The aspect of chamber music and the creation of sounds, chords, nuances gets even better when you have such lovely colleagues that I’m so fortunate to have 🙏
The reason why I love clarinet so much is… well, who doesn’t like clarinet? How can you not love it!? The beautiful, tender, voice-like sound, the flexibility and I could go on.
🔥 May 12th, 19:30 DR Koncerthuset - Mozart clarinet concerto.
This evening The Danish National Symphony Orchestra is playing Prokofiev’s 6th symphony and Mozart’s clarinet concerto with their own Principal Clarinet, Johnny Teyssier as a soloist. Johnny’s natural way of playing and ease is something you really won’t miss! He’s an incredible clarinetist, and I’m sure he’ll make the Mozart clarinet concerto even better! Be there - I will! 😃

🔥 August 27th, 17:00 Tivoli’s Concerthall - Copland clarinet concerto with Martin Fröst.
Copenhagen Philharmonic will play Mendelssohn’s 3rd symphony and Copland’s wonderful and jazzy clarinet concerto!
Martin Fröst will BOTH conduct and play as a soloist in this concert. I don’t think Martin Fröst needs further introduction. To be short; He’s the Lionel Messi of clarinet 💥
