Ålesund symfoniorkester - Carmina Burana

Description

Carl Orff's Carmina Burana At last Ålesund Symfoniorkester can invite you to Carmina Burana! Carl Orff's Carmina Burana is one of the most popular and instantly recognisable choral works of the 1900s. The work was premiered in 1937 and is based on a collection of medieval texts about the changing conditions of life - love, spring and youth, the joy of drinking, fate and transience. With a powerful choir, soloists and a large orchestra, Orff creates music that shifts between the raw and rhythmic, the lyrical and the solemn. The opening and closing movement O Fortuna has become an iconic piece of music, but the whole of Carmina Burana encompasses a far greater musical range! Programme: Orff / Carmina Burana
