Herbert Blomstedt conducts Brahms' Second and Fourth Symphonies The 99-year-old conducting legend, Oslo-filharmonien's honorary conductor Herbert Blomstedt, returns to Oslo with two of the most gripping symphonies of the late Romantic period. Brahms called his Second Symphony among the saddest things he had written, but is it really? And what do you do with a symphony that ends in desperate darkness rather than triumphant jubilation? Herbert Blomstedt has conducted Brahms' symphonies for over six decades. Now, at the age of 99, he returns to Oslo-filharmonien with two of them.
